The Dark Knight Return Impression

Sewaktu gw kelas dua gw ditawarin graphic novel oleh kunderemp yang judulnya "the dark knight returns"...
Sebenarnya gw waktu itu lagi nyari graphic novel yang cita rasanya se-noir max payne...
jujur aja sewaktu gw ditawarin the dark knight returns gw agak kecewa karena gw berharap ditawarin graphic novel yang lebih ke arah realis g ngebicarain hero-hero DC yang norak..

Tapi mengingat gw dulu suka ngefans ama film Batman Return's nya Tm Burton..
So i gave it a try...

Gw terpukau...
Untuk ukuran tahun 1992 komik ini(gw g melihat banyak perbedaan antara graphic novel dengan komik) benar-benar luar biasa dari segi penggambaran.
Dari segi cerita? Sampai saat ini saya berani bilang luar biasa.
Cara frank miller menggambarkan karakter batman yang begitu terobsesi,sinis,sombong dan gelap....
benar-benar membuat saya teringat kenapa sewaktuy kecil saya lebih menyukai batman gaya Tim Burton dibandingkan yang lain.

Cara dia menggambarkan tiap adegan disertai dengan kata-kata yang terdengar agak muluk.
Sungguh luar biasa.

Sayangnya saya tidak menyukai bagian terakhir komik ini yang berjudul "The Dark Knight Falls"..
karena ceritanya begitu maksa, g jelas, kemana-mana, begitu juga pertempuran antara superman dan batman yang kelihatan begitu basi....

Ah...tapi tetap saja saya lebih menganggap graphic novel Max Payne lebih bagus dari segi cerita, gaya dan artistik..
Ah seandainya saja Max Payne 2 dibuat graphic novelnya...

Gue Melakukan Kesalahan Fatal!!

Ironis banget..
Gue sebagai mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komputer dari salah satu universitas terbaik di Indonesia melakukan sebuah kesalahan fatal. Yaitu, gue ternyata kagak punya sense of security.

Gue meninggalkan account blogger gue terbuka. Gue lupa sign-out..

A paradox of taste : 300(movie)

Last friday, i and 2 of my brother went to watch 300 in Planet Hollywood Indonesia (In Studio 3? im detecting a pattern here).All my friends (except kunderemp) told me that 300 is an action movie that you wont forget, intense epic battle, elegan artwork and so on and so forth.

Instead what i get is a cinema regular action movie masked with thousand army battle (Yeah I know the story said million...but i only felt like sawing thousands of them in the movie) involving nonsense plot, which actually i already read thousands time in games.
Repetitive close quarter battle....

It just a show of a band of six packed man fighting with thousands army (that when theyre defeated, they use another mask, pretending that they areanother part of Xerxes's troop and fight the brave sparta warrior...) and showing exotic lady without any meaning at all...

Accidently all of my brother(except the youngest one, currently at the fifth grade) agreed with me that the film is not a bad film, it is also not as good as everybody hype for...

Yes, it has an interesting artwork, excessive blood, gore and sexuality all over them.
But to be honest with you...
I dont feel anything in the movie offer anything i never seen before...
